Alaskan Malamutes

                            Showing

Showing is not about being a snob or trying to beat an apponent at a game, it's a way of proving your dog is worth remaining in the gene pool, in order to preserve the Standard that has been set and stay true to the breed. Many dogs resemble a dog of their breed, but look nothing like a dog that meets Breed Standard. If people breed regardless and dont take notice of the breed standard, many breeds will be lost in time, when 50 years down the line, no-one can find a dog that any longer resembles the breed standard.

So the only way of doing this is to show your dogs and hope they come up to scratch. A Judge will place your dog depeding on how many of the desired traits they carry and their desired conformation.

BATH CHAMP SHOW MAY 2008

Seku did us very proud by taking a 2nd in Post Grad Class ....

Not bad considering she was already blowing her coat !

This is Seku at her second only Show at 10 months old, taking

Best AV Working Puppy, and then going on to take Best AV Working, beating an Adult dog too !

She has only been shown lightly, but in just a handful of shows, she has taken a few Firsts and also a couple of Group Placings, a great achievement in such a short time.
